"FURY" JOLTS MOVIE WORLD!

HARLOW HIT BASED ON NOVEL

"Suzy," the new Jean Harlow picture with Franchot Tone, Cary Grant and Lewis Stone in the cast, is based on the sensational novel by Herbert Gorman.

3 HEROES IN JOAN'S NEXT

Joan Crawford will have three romantic leading men in "The Gorgeous Hussy": Robert Taylor, James Stewart and Melvyn Douglas.

JULIET'S NURSE

Edna May Oliver plays the Nurse, one of the key roles in "Romeo and Juliet," M-G-M's film version of the Shakespearean play. Norma Shearer as Juliet and Leslie Howard as Romeo head the cast of stars.

M-G-M Puts Punch Into Picture on New Theme

Each season those wide awake Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer movie-makers manage to send forth a new picture that gives the movie-world a real jolt -- they have a knack of picking a story or theme that is so different that it startles the movie fans.

Such a picture is "Fury" -- which is causing so much comment and discussion and controversy! "Fury" is as furious as its title! It tackles a new theme! It doesn't pull its punches; it socks with all the fury and force of its theme.

It deals a body blow at mob rule -- at the wild passions that lead to lynchings. It carries from the screen to your heart the furious emotions of a young couple torn from each other's arms on their honeymoon.

"Fury" has Sylvia Sidney and Spencer Tracy and a large M-G-M cast. It's the picture of the hour. If you're a bit fed up on soft, smart-crackign romances, we recommend "Fury."

"WE WEST TO COLLEGE" CAST

With an alumni campus reunion supplying the comedy locale, M-G-M's "We West to College," is now in production with Walter Abel, Hugh Herbert, Charles Butterworth, Una Merkel, Walter Catlett and Edith Atwater in the principal roles.

REALISM IN "GOOD EARTH"

A five hundred acre replica of a North China farm village has been constructed and planted out in the Santa Susanna Mountains for backgrounds for "The Good Earth." Equipment for this farm was brought direct from China by the M-G-M expedition which spent two years there on research. Paul Muni and Luise Rainer co-star.

NEW PICTURE

"Women Are Trouble" will feature Stuart Erwin.

CHIC ROSALIND

When she takes off the charming costumes she wears for her role opposite Robert Montgomery in "Trouble for Two," Rosalind Russell dons smart riding togs and pursues her favorite sport -- riding.

BIG THREE OF "DAVID COPPERFIELD" RESPONSIBLE FOR OUTSTANDING HIT, "LITTLE LORD FAUNTLEROY"

Star, Producer and Adaptor Combine for New Smash Hit

Freddie Bartholomew, the star, David O. Selznick, the producer, and Hugh Walpole, adaptor, the big three responsible for "David Copperfield," have again combined their magic talents in a new and equally successful hit, "Little Lord Fauntleroy." The picture comes here next week as a special Spring Festival treat, together with "Roaming Lady"

"Little Lord Fauntleroy" is an old friend in a new guise. Freddie Bartholomew has completely de-sissified the lovable boy of play and fiction who worships his mother with a fierce loyalty and who changes a tyrannous old boor into a kindly and hospitable human being.

Gone are the golden curls, the velvet suits and the sissified trappings of "Little Lord Fauntleroy" in the new screen version! Freddie Bartholomew makes him the kind of boy every man, woman and child will love -- faced with and solving problems that are as heart-stirring and hilarious today as they were when Frances Hodgson Burnett wrote the famous book. The cast includes Dolores Costello Barrymore, C. Aubrey Smith, Guy Kibbee, Jessie Ralph, Mickey Rooney and Jackie Searl.

"AMATEUR GENTLEMAN" DUE HERE WITH "DRIFT FENCE"
Monday and Tuesday Also Bring Festival Treats

"Amateur Gentleman," film version of the stirring and colorful romantic novel, with Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., in the title rold, and "Drift Fence," thrilling and dramatic romance with Larry "Buster" Crabbe, Katherine De Mille, Tom Keene and Benny Baker in the principal roles, are the two Spring Festival attractions due on the same program at this theatre next Monday and Tuesday June 8 and 9.

Jeffrey Farnol's colorful novel, "The Amateur Gentleman," comes to the screen of this theatre next week with Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. in the title role, and with Elissa Landi in the feminine romantic lead.

Here is the dashing, devil-may-care story of the way in which the young son of a champion prize-fighter avenges his father's honor -- recovers stolen jewels -- himiliates and subjugates the beautiful lady of quality responsible for his father's disgrace -- and falls in love with her himself! The romantic spirit of the novel is well preserved throughout. For lovers of romance and adventure, "The Amateur Gentleman" will prove a decided screen thrill!

2 Shows for the PRICE of ONE

Shirley Temple in "Captain January," and "Boulder Dam," with Ross Alexander and Patricia Ellis, are the two mid-week Spring Festival treats due on the same program next Wednesday and Thursday, June 10 and 11.

Shirley is at her adorable best in "Captain January," with Guy Kibbee and Slim Summerville, and a new dancing partner in Buddy Ebsen, who scored such a hit in "Broadway Melody of 1936." The story concerns a homeless waif and a lighthouse keeper.
