MOTHER'S DAY AT THE M-G-M STUDIOS

Stars Honor Mothers

The Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios at Culver City took on the air of informal festivity for the Mother's Day celebration observed by the studio's collection of famous sons and daughters. Work on the sets stopped long enough for the various stars to introduce their mothers to each other! No doubt the introfuctions were followed by comparing of notes and by stories about the time when Joan, Bob, Spencer or Una were little ones! Pictured on this page you will see some of your favorites and their mothers who were snapped at the studios for the Mother's Day celebration.

Mrs. Brough visits her famous son, Robert Taylor, at the M-G-M Studios.

Spencer Tracy greets his mother between scenes of "San Francisco."

Freddie Bartholomew and his guardian aunt, Miss Millicent Bartholomew.

Mary Carlisle tells her mother just how movies are made in Culver City.

Nelson Eddy, back from his tour, visits the studio with his mother, and Eleanor Powell, recovered and ready for work, visits M-G-M with her mother.

Joan Crawford, starring next in "Gorgeous Hussy," and her mother.

Una Merkel is hostess to her mother between calls to the "Speed" set.

Jackie Cooper is a big boy now -- a half head taller than his mother.

Betty Furness shows her mother the sets used for "Three Wise Guys."

"ZIEGFELD" PLAYS IN 25 CITIES

"The Great Ziegfeld," M-G-M's smash hit starring William Powell, Myrna Loy and Luise Rainer, is no only breaking all records at the Astor Theatre, 45th Street and Broadway, but is doing the same in the twenty-four other cities in which it is showing. "The Great Ziegfeld" is eclipsing box-office records previously set by such famous hits as "Grand Hotel," and the first "Broadway Melody" production.

2 Shows for the PRICE of ONE
