The back of this photo says: "LAURA LAPLANTE DOES "CHARLESTON" IN SMALLEST SPACE.

Most "addicts" to the "Charleston" require one quarter of an ordinary ballroom to perfom in. Laura La Plante, featured with Pat O'Malley in Universal's "The Midnight Sun", challenges anyone to dance the complete Charleston on a pedestal one and one-half feet in diameter. As the prima ballerina of the Imperial Russian ballet in her new picture she was required to perform many difficult classical steps in that georgeous fantasy "The Ballet of Jewels", in which seventy-five beautiful dancers and models partake. To limber up before going into this dance Miss La Plante chose the intricate steps of the Charleston and became proficient in its execution in the smallest space on record.
